Quick Fixing Quicken Error OL-297-a

 Quicken is a personal accounting software which is designed for money management. The users can track their expenses, income and cash flow and also manage property related finances. However, while working on this software, you may come across error codes which put an unprecedented pause to its normal working. One such error which can interrupt your business activities is Quicken Error OL-297-A. This error occurs due to poor internet connection.

 


A Quicken Error OL-297 occurs when a bank account is being updated online. The error does not necessarily mean that the computer has lost internet connection, but only that it has failed to establish one. So when a Quicken Error OL-297-A pops up, the causes might be the following:

 


The bank might have updated their security setting disabling Quicken from accessing them.

The server of this software might be down temporarily.

The existing software might be an old version of the Quicken software which needs an upgrade.

There could be problems in the popup and firewall settings.

 

METHODS TO SOLVE QUICKEN ERROR OL-297-A

There are three different ways to troubleshoot this system error. Make sure to follow the mentioned steps correctly. 

 

Method 1: Update Internet Security Settings

 

Press Windows+R keys together and a run window will pop up on your screen.

Type Control Panel in the search box and hit OK.

Now, go to Network and Internet options.

Click on the Advanced tab and go to the Security section.

Put a check mark on TLS 1.2.

Finally, click on apply and then OK. 

 

Method 2: Reconfigure Firewall

Check that qw.exe is accessible to the internet.

Check if the Firewall is not restricting access to Quicken software.

Now, open Quicken and go to Help, then to Quicken Support.

If you are able to access Quicken.com, that means that the Firewall is not restricting your access. If unable to reach Quicken.com, then you need to reconfigure Firewall settings again.

Use an anti-virus software to configure the Firewall automatically.  

 

Method 3: Update Security Settings

Press on Windows+R keys simultaneously.

Type Control Panel and press OK in the run window.

Select Network and Internet option and go to Internet Settings.

Click on the Privacy tab and go to Advanced settings.

Do not forget to click on accept for both First-party and Third-party.

Finally, click on OK.
